Runako Inside Out with Bosco

Inside Out is our weekly profile on people and all things personal care. Our profiles will look into different aspects of personal care including physical, skin, mental and health care. We want to know how you’ve been taking care of yourself inside and out and help us share tips, tricks and advice with others.

This week we feature Brittany Bosco, artist, multimedia entrepreneur and founder of Slug Global. Slug is an art collective made up of graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, and more. Slug has collaborated with Instagram and consulted for brands such as Youtube, Toyota and WeWork.

Runako: How are you? Especially now with the on-going coronavirus pandemic?

Bosco: Hello, I'm doing ok due to the climate of the world. I can say I'm relatively positive. You have to literally take each day for what it is because nothing is promised. Some days are better than others but you just have to be able to work through it.

Runako: How have you been taking care of your mental health? Have you implemented any changes to your personal routine?

Bosco: It's an on-going journey but I am a spiritual person so I lean into that. Gardening has been a true lifesaver!  I didn't realize how much of a green thumb I am but glad I discovered this side of me.

Runako: How have you been taking care of your physical health? If not, why?

Bosco: Honestly, I haven't hahahhah. I'm pregnant so my physical health is more walking and eating healthy.

Runako: We can’t forget about skincare, how has your skincare routine been during the quarantine? Any significant changes?

Bosco: I love skin care and invest into good products. Self-care is a huge component in my self-esteem and how I feel about myself. I think I've increased my regimen by exploring more serums and masks. Healthy skin is good makeup.

Runako: What are some products you’ve been loving and using?

Bosco: Of course Runako, True Botanicals, Milk Makeup, Honest and Glossier.

Runako: Any natural skin care tips or products you’ve tried and are now part of your personal routine?

Bosco: I've included rose and orange blossom water into my routine before I start putting anything on my skin. It opens my pores and hydrates my skin making the product easier to apply onto the skin.

Runako: Do you have any go-to DIY skincare recipes or combinations that you can share?

Bosco: I add vitamin powers to my serums to boost them. Also, when you put on the serum I warm up a face towel in the microwave for about 30 secs to seal in the serum and take my jade roller massaging the rest into my skin.

Runako: What’s a must in your personal care routine? (Don’t be shy)

Bosco: Bubble Baths.

Runako: Any advice, tips or tricks you want to share? Something you might have discovered recently that might help someone reading this?

Bosco: Do allow people to make you feel guilty for putting yourself 1st. You can't give anyone what you can't give to yourself.
