Runako Inside Out with Manseen Logan

We want to know how you’ve been taking care of yourself inside and out and help us share tips, tricks and advice with others.
Manseen is a Liberian-American fufu & soup connoisseur. She writes and edits on culture with an emphasis on trending topics. Currently, Manseen edits for Complex Networks and Village Tales Publishing with past works in Blavity News. She is the director of a sports media site, GoTeamLiberia. Her goal is to get through this life with as little stress as possible — wish her luck.
Runako: How are you? Especially now with the on-going coronavirus pandemic?
Manseen: I'm alive and well, so I can't complain. Funny thing is, my quarantine life ain't that much different from my normal life. Not sure if that's good or bad, but it is what it is.
Runako: How have you been taking care of your mental health? Have you implemented any changes to your personal routine?
Manseen: Since I mostly work remotely, I've just continued to compartmentalize my time, making sure to draw hardlines between my work and leisure.
Runako: How have you been taking care of your physical health? If not, why?
Manseen: I probably have 50 quarantine pounds to shed, right now. At this point, I'm tired of eating for no reason (probably the only difference between my pre-quarantine life and now). So, I'm trying to make healthier choices and just drink water when I start to feel anxious about the anti-maskers.. I've definitely been drinking a lot more water.
Runako: We can’t forget about skincare, how has your skincare routine been during the quarantine? Any significant changes?
Manseen: I actually need to update my skincare routine. So, I'm open to suggestions. But for the most part I just wash my face with sensitive soap and keep it moisturized with Runako, Pond's, or other sensitive skin creams.
Runako: What are some products you’ve been loving and using?
Manseen : I've gotten into taking my vitamins and other supplements. You know, trying to build up my immune system. Vitamin C, Echinechea, and Ridgecrest Clear Lungs are my go to...Also Turmeric.
Runako: Any natural skin care tips or products you’ve tried and are now part of your personal routine?
Manseen: I haven't tried anything, as far as my skin is concerned. Actually, I saw a video from Jeannie Mai about gently tapping your face to stimulate the blood flow. So, I started doing that before bed.
Runako: Do you have any go-to DIY skincare recipes or combinations that you can share?
Runako: What’s a must in your personal care routine? (Don’t be shy)
Manseen: Music. Music is a must. I have B7 (Brandy) in rotation, right now.
Runako: Any advice, tips or tricks you want to share? Something you might have discovered recently that might help someone reading this?
Manseen: Just make time for yourself. Sit with your thoughts. Meditate or listen to sounds that inspire and lift your spirits.
